    LaSean — Founder, Kaldr Tech

LaSean is a 10-year home service trades veteran and the founder of Kaldr Tech, the first 100% free field service management platform for contractors. Before building software, he spent a decade in the field — HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work — which shaped his belief that contractors shouldn't have to pay hundreds per month for tools that don't work.

    Background

LaSean grew up around job sites. His first real paycheck came from a summer spent pulling wire on new construction, and by 19 he was running service calls on his own. Over the next decade he worked across HVAC installs, emergency plumbing, and residential electrical — the kind of mixed-trade career most small contractors never get to build because the tools don't let them.

He saw every side of the business: answering 2am no-heat calls, arguing with dispatch software that crashed on iPhones, losing leads because voicemails piled up, and watching profit vanish into a $400/month software stack that barely worked.

    Why He Built Kaldr

Every platform LaSean tried was built by people who had never swung a wrench. They cost too much, required week-long onboarding, and charged per-user fees that punished him for hiring help. The free tools were worse — stripped down, ad-laden, and designed to upsell.

Kaldr Tech is the platform he wished existed when he was running two trucks. Every feature a contractor actually needs — scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, a 24/7 virtual receptionist, payments, financing, review collection — included and free. No monthly fee. No per-user charges. No bait-and-switch.

Kaldr makes money the same way the contractors on the platform do: when a job gets paid. A transparent 3.5% + 30 cent processing fee is the only charge. Everything else is free, forever.

For Blue Collar, By Blue Collar

That phrase isn't marketing — it's the filter every product decision runs through. If a feature wouldn't have helped LaSean when he was on the truck, it doesn't ship. If a button isn't easy to tap with work gloves on, it gets redesigned. If an onboarding step takes more than 30 seconds, it gets cut. Kaldr is built by people who know what the job actually looks like.
