Kaldr Tech + Stripe
Take cards, ACH, and financing in the field or over the phone
What It Does
The Kaldr Tech Stripe integration turns every invoice into a payment-ready link. Techs can tap a button on the truck to run a card, dispatchers can text a secure payment link from the office, and customers can pay online from the invoice email. Stripe Terminal is supported for in-person chip and tap transactions, ACH debit handles larger commercial payments, and Stripe's financing partners let homeowners split repairs over 6, 12, or 24 months. Refunds, partial payments, and disputes flow back into Kaldr automatically so the job record always reflects reality. Deposits and fees land in your bank account on Stripe's normal schedule.
Why It Matters
Every day an invoice sits unpaid is a day you are financing your customer's repair out of your own pocket. Shops that switch to in-field card payments and text-to-pay links typically cut days sales outstanding from 28 days to under 5 days. On a shop doing $2 million a year in revenue, shrinking DSO by 23 days frees up roughly $126,000 in working capital, money that can go toward payroll, parts, or a new truck instead of sitting in accounts receivable. Beyond cash flow, offering financing at the kitchen table raises average ticket size. Shops that add Stripe financing to their estimate workflow see average invoice value jump 18 to 25 percent because homeowners say yes to the full fix instead of the band-aid. And because Kaldr's integration marketplace is free to connect, you only pay Stripe's standard processing rates. There is no per-integration fee stacked on top, which keeps more of every dollar you collect in your business.
How to Set It Up
- 1
Create or link your Stripe account
In Kaldr, go to Settings, Integrations, Stripe. Click Connect and sign in to your existing Stripe account or create a new one in under five minutes. Stripe will walk you through business verification, which usually takes a single business day to approve.
- 2
Choose your payment methods
Decide which payment methods to enable: credit and debit cards, ACH direct debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and financing. Most residential shops turn on everything except ACH, while commercial contractors lean heavily on ACH to avoid card processing fees on big invoices.
- 3
Order Stripe Terminal readers if you want in-person chip and tap
If your techs collect payment on site, order BBPOS WisePOS E or Stripe Reader M2 devices directly from Stripe. They arrive pre-paired with your account and connect to the Kaldr mobile app over Bluetooth or wifi in about two minutes per device.
- 4
Configure payment links and branding
Upload your logo, set your brand color, and write the text customers see on invoices and payment pages. Kaldr will use these everywhere a customer touches a payment, from the text-to-pay link to the emailed receipt, so the experience feels like your shop, not a generic processor.
- 5
Run a test charge and go live
Use a real card for a one dollar test charge, confirm it shows in both Kaldr and Stripe, then refund it. Once the round trip is clean, flip the switch to live mode and start collecting on real jobs.
What You Can Do With It
- ✓A plumber finishes a $2,300 water heater install, taps Collect Payment in the Kaldr app, hands the customer a Stripe Terminal reader, and the job is paid and closed before he leaves the driveway.
- ✓An HVAC estimator presents a $12,000 system replacement at the kitchen table and offers 12-month financing through Stripe, closing the full job instead of a partial repair.
- ✓A dispatcher texts a secure payment link to a commercial customer who prefers ACH, and the invoice is paid within 24 hours without chasing a check.
- ✓A homeowner disputes a charge and the chargeback notification appears in Kaldr so the owner can respond with job photos and the signed work authorization in one place.
- ✓A shop owner runs end of month and sees Stripe deposits auto-reconciled against Kaldr invoices, no spreadsheets required.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the processing fees?
You pay Stripe's standard published rates, currently 2.9 percent plus 30 cents for online cards and 2.7 percent plus 5 cents for in-person. Kaldr does not add any markup. The integration itself is free to connect.
How fast do I get paid?
Stripe's standard payout schedule is two business days for new accounts and next business day once you are established. Instant payouts are available for an extra fee if you need money in the account today.
Does it work with Stripe Terminal hardware?
Yes. BBPOS WisePOS E and Stripe Reader M2 are both fully supported in the Kaldr mobile app. Tap, chip, and contactless payments all flow back to the job record automatically.
Can I offer financing at the kitchen table?
Yes. Stripe's financing partners are integrated into Kaldr's estimate workflow, so you can present 6, 12, or 24 month terms and get an instant decision while the customer is still on the couch.
What happens to refunds and chargebacks?
Refunds issued in either Kaldr or Stripe sync both directions. Chargebacks show up as alerts in Kaldr so you can respond with job photos, signatures, and notes directly from the ticket.
